Joanne House was registered January 2022 to provide care and accommodation for up to two children of either gender, aged 7 to 17 years upon admission. The home offers 52-week support for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties and/or learning disabilities.

Joanne House is a large, terraced home, providing a high quality and homely environment for the young people who live there. Upon entering the home, there is a spacious hallway, which leads onto a large front lounge. At the rear of the home is a large dining/relaxation room, meaning there is ample room for the young people to have space and privacy and accommodate any direct work with them individually, or for private time with visitors. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, where young people can help to prepare and cook their food.  A downstairs WC can also be found, alongside a utility room containing facilities for children to do their laundry. In addition, there is a yard area which can be accessed via the kitchen, providing a space for outdoor games and relaxation. Upstairs the home has 4 bedrooms, two of these being double rooms and being allocated as the young person’s bedrooms, containing double beds and built-in wardrobes.

The home is situated on a quiet residential road, with a public park being in very close proximity, approximately 50 metres distance. There is good access to local shops and amenities, including health centre, dentist, library, community sports and fitness facilities with cinema and bowling being within short travelling distance. In addition, there are churches, mosques, and temples within easy access from the home and several local schools that would be suitable to meet the education needs of our young people.
